She hates Christmas. He has to play Santa. On live TV.
Manhattan TV producer Harper Quinn has made eleven holiday specials and despised every one. Now her network has sent her to Silverbell, Wyoming, “America’s Christmas Town,” to film one more. If the special airs, the town’s festival survives. If it doesn’t, the festival is over.
The network wants a Santa. The town’s Santa for twenty-two years has just fallen off the sleigh barn roof hanging lights. So the festival chair assigns the only replacement she has: her eldest son.
Colter Callister is six foot four, permanently scowling, and hasn’t celebrated Christmas since his fiancée left him at the altar on Christmas Eve, six years ago, in front of three hundred people. He refuses to dye his beard. He refuses to say “ho ho ho.” And he is the last man on earth Harper would ever let into her heart.
Twenty-four days. Twenty-four Advent windows on Main Street. One grump who has to make another grump believe in Christmas, on camera, in front of the whole country.
Inside you’ll find
- Grumpy × grumpy
- A reluctant Santa
- A big-city producer in a very small town
- A wishing tree full of paper stars
- A bossy reindeer named Brenda
- A holiday special where everything goes wrong
